Hong Kong Airport Terminals

Terminals

HKG Airport has 2 passenger Terminals:

Terminal 1

It is the third largest passenger terminal in the world.

It has the North Satellite and Midfield Concourse too, that serves terminal 1 and 2 when needed.

Terminal 2

It is only a check-in and processing building for departures, without gates nor arrivals areas.

It serves mostly low cost airlines. It has the Sky Hall, a big shopping mall.

SKY PIER

It is a facility for ferry transfers for passengers that have landed in Hong Kong International Airport. From there, passengers can go to Pearl River Delta, New Territories, Chek Lap Kok and Hong Kong.

Transfer between terminals 

The Automated People Mover takes passengers between Terminal 1, Midfield Concourse, SkyPier and Terminal 2.

Travelling at approximately 60 kilometres per hour, this driverless electric train system carries about 7,200 passengers per hour and departs every few minutes.

Terminal 1 and Midfield Concourse: 06:00 am – 01:00 am
Terminal 1 to SkyPier: 07:00 am – 11:15 pm
Terminal 2 to Terminal 1: 06:30 am – 01:00 am

present and future 

The airport is implementing several important changes along the facility. There will be an addition to Terminal 1,  the Skycity and a new runway. The project will be implemented between 2019 and 2027.
